STEP 1: Make a Voting Plan

Planning ahead makes voting easier!

Here’s a simple plan you can follow:

  • Register or confirm your registration by October 19, 2026

  • Look for your ballot in early October

  • Decide whether you’ll mail it early or vote in person

  • Mark your calendar for November 3, 2026

STEP 2: confirm REGISTRATION

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO VOTE TO RECEIVE A MAIL-IN BALLOT AND PARTICIPATE IN THIS ELECTION.

THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO RECEIVE A VOTE-BY-MAIL
BALLOT IS OCTOBER 19, 2026.

  • Verify you live in  district #1: https://www.lacoe.edu

  • check your registration status online: registertovote.ca.gov

  • register or update your address if needed: registertovote.ca.gov

  • if you miss the 10/19/26 deadline, you can still conditionally register and vote at a vote center during the early voting period or on election day.

STEP 3: watch for your ballot

ballots and sample ballot booklets will be mailed by early october 2026.

reminder:

  • all registered voters will receive a ballot in the mail unless you choose to vote in person

  • sample ballots preview your choices before you vote

  • if your ballot doesn’t arrive by mid-october, visit: https://lavote.gov

STEP 4: vote (in person or by mail)

You’ve got 2 choices, outlined below

Vote in person:

  • early voting at vote centers: typically open october 24 - november 3, 2026 (exact dates vary)

  • election day voting: tuesday, november 3, 2026, at any vote center in los angeles county.

  • you can drop off your ballot, vote in person, and/or register to vote/update registration at any la county vote center

  • poll hours on election day: 7:00am - 8:00pm

  • for la county vote center info: https://www.lavote.gov/home/voting-elections/voting-options/voting-in-person

Vote by mail:

  • return your ballot by mail before election day

  • ballots must be postmarked by november 3, 2026

  • return your ballot as early as possible for peace of mind
